Kaitlin Hong Tai
Manager of Programs, West End Seniors’ Network

Kaitlin Hong Tai is the Manager of Programs at the West End Seniors’ Network (WESN), the second largest, multi-site older adults’ centre in Vancouver, BC. She has a BSc in Biomedical Physiology from Simon Fraser University and years of experience working with older adults in community, research and long-term care environments. Kaitlin’s goal is to empower individuals to live physically, mentally and socially well-balanced lives through engaging opportunities.

WESN has developed a program called Close to Home that aims to reduce social isolation amongst older adults living independently in community. Much of Close to Home is based on social, educational and recreational programs that run out of WESN’s Barclay Manor site. The program looks to reduce barriers to participating in activities with peers, to activate spaces and to encourage the formation of strong community relationships.
