Support our vision
Hey Neighbour Collective’s long-term vision is a future where more of Canada’s independent, multi-unit housing is age-friendly, socially connected, neighbourly, health-promoting and resilient.
Support the work of the collective
We have been working towards our vision since the summer of 2019 by bringing together a wide array of collaborators and partners: rental housing providers, community non-profits, researchers, local and regional governments, housing industry associations and health authorities.
Together with residents of multi-unit housing, HNC and its partners have been testing, scaling and learning about ways of alleviating loneliness and social isolation while building capacity for neighbourly support and mutual aid.
HNC is a collective impact initiative, guided by a clearly articulated Theory of Change and supported by an experienced backbone team.
Your gift will help to support the critical backbone functions of our model, which in turn makes it possible for us to grow and deepen the impact of our work together.
Hey Neighbour Collective is a special project of the SFU Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, which is a registered charity.
If you would like to discuss other ways of donating to our work, please contact project director Michelle Hoar at mhoar @ sfu.ca.
Hey Neighbour Collective is a collective impact project
A collective impact project is a network of community members, organizations, and institutions who advance equity by learning together, aligning, and integrating their actions to achieve population and systems level change.1
It has five fundamental conditions:
- It starts with a common agenda;
- It establishes shared measurement;
- It fosters mutually reinforcing activities;
- It encourages continuous communications;
- It has a strong backbone.
