Ana Méndez
Ana Méndez works with Building Resilient Neighbourhoods and the Connect & Prepare program as Resilience Coordinator. Ana’s work centers on the vital role of community connection and engagement in building resilience and promoting collective action in cities.
Originally from Mexico and now living on Lekwungen-speaking territories, Ana is fascinated by the complex relationships between people, place, and space. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Geography and Urban Studies from Simon Fraser University and has worked in grassroots community organizations and non-profits, with a particular focus on food justice, policy advocacy, community organizing, and emergency preparedness.
In her free time, Ana enjoys exploring the city, practicing yoga, reading, and taking advantage of all that the West Coast has to offer.
